My name is Jana and I’m the person behind Lankakaappi and Kettu Knits. I grew up in Latvia, but I’ve been calling Finland my home for over a decade. My grandma taught me to knit at age of 5 and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Name Lankakaappi comes from the habit to store all my favourite yarn treasures in an antique wooden cabinet (Fin. lanka – yarn, kaappi – closet, cabinet).
As most of you know, I’m not only a passionate knitter, but I’m also indie yarn dyer. I have a true love for colour and I try to express it through Kettu Yarns. In my store I’ve tried to collect all my favourite yarns and nifty knitting supplies. I prefer buying things from small family businesses, but you will find couple of bigger maker items here as well. Lankakaappi is located in Karhula (Kotka) and you are most welcome to visit us at the shop. We could chat, enjoy a cup of coffee and spend some time knitting together.
